The other night, I was sharing a cocktail with my dear friend Barbara Johnston over Facetime and we got to discussing her upcoming annual holiday fundraiser, Jingle Babz.

“You know Suz,” she said between sips of Rum Negroni, “my motto has always been ‘Go big or go home. This year I say, why not do both? Go big AND go home!”

Well…. that’s what she’s doing this year. Quite literally.

With the help of 20+ performers and musicians from across the country, Johnston (aka, “Jingle Babz”) is inviting the world into her living room and delivering a complete virtual show. Borrowing themes from holiday specials of the past, from Judy Garland to Pee-wee Herman ( my personal favourite), Jingle Babz promises Christmas cards, carols, fireside chats, special guests, and maybe even a visit from Kris Kringle.

I’m delighted that I’ll be performing two original Christmas songs for the show.

It’s happening this Sunday and running through the holidays, so get your tickets now!

Jingle Babz and Friends present: A Virtual Holiday Concert Premiers December 20th at 7pm.  Tickets are $25 and ticket holders will have the opportunity to join the opening night cocktail party (for an extra $10). Courtesy of sponsor Isolation Cocktail, pre-party guests will get a recipe for the specially made Jingle Babz cocktail.

Portions of ticket sales will be donated to Sistering: a multi-service agency offering practical and emotional support to women and trans people from across Toronto who are homeless, precariously housed and/or socially isolated.
